Four people arrested after they assaulted doctors at JJ Hospital after their kin died Friday night. JJ Marg police has registered a case under section 4 of the Maharashtra Medical Act and section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Resident doctors at JJ threatened to go on strike. The police informed them about the incident and requested not to go on strike. Last year, a number of cases of assault on doctors were reported after which state had provided security to the public hospitals.
