There have clearly been eccentric rappers some time recently. In New York, there's an entire flourishing subculture worked around the vogue-ball club scene, and there are exciting, essential specialists who might be associated with that scene: Le1f, Mykki Blanco, Cakes Da Killa. In spots like New Orleans and Baltimore, eccentric voices have been some of most grounded, most commended voices of their neighborhood club-rap scenes for a considerable length of time. For all intents and purposes each female rapper in the historical backdrop of the class has been supposed to be gay or swinger, to the point where it's right around a joke. (Danny Brown: "I eat that pussy like a female MC.") People like Azealia Banks and Angel Haze have rapped about same-sex connections, and even a star as large as Nicki Minaj has made it a kind of winking some portion of her persona ("I'm plotting on how I can remove Cassie from Diddy"). And afterward there's Frank Ocean, who now and again raps. In any case, even with all that history, the rise of Young M.A's "Ooouuu" as rap's awesome summer 2016 road hymn says something vital. It's a brash, exceptional, hard-as-fuck bit of rider music from a lady who raps gladly, and energetically, about fucking other ladies, and it has completely assumed control over the most traditionalist city on the rap scene. The greater part of that is reason for festivity, however I don't know whether it'll significantly matter to the legacy of "Ooouuu." Instead, the tune feels like it denote the entry of a noteworthy rap ability — somebody who is excellent for reasons that go path past her sexual personality. "Ooouuu" is a great New York banger, the kind of melody that makes old individuals like me consider Jadakiss or N.O.R.E. Its beat is shocking and straightforward and extensive, and it gives M.A, with her thick Brooklyn emphasize, all the room she needs to talk a ton of sure crap. Doubtlessly that you're listening to a strange female rapper, and she's never bashful about being unequivocal: "I ride for my folks, that is the brother code/Baby give me head, that is a low blow/Shorty make me feeble when she profound throat." (The radio host Charlamagne got some information about that last line, and she just giggled: "I'll bring several young ladies here one day, and they'll disclose to you what that mean… You shouldn't have any desire to realize what a dildo does, pal.") But that is not the center of the melody. The center of the melody is simply fly, extreme poop, conveyed with the kind of appeal that makes you need to take in every one of the words so you can rap along.
